World Premiere: "Deserve Me" By Olivia King

By Landon Funk

Did you know that girls have magic powers?

Duh, you did. But just in case you didn’t, upcoming singer-songwriter Olivia King is here to convince you. Born and raised in Warwick, Rhode Island, her sound is poppy with a twist of soul and dance.

King started performing in the Boston area when she was sixteen and has been building her stage presence ever since. In 2013, she acquired backup dancers and opened for August Alsina, Eric Bellinger, Hi-Rez, Emilio Rojas and more.

What is even more astounding is that King is the CEO of two companies: Girls Have Magic Powers that promotes empowering women and paying it forward and Make Music Moves that teaches independent artists how to be successful in the music industry.

She is a force to be reckoned with which is why we are so happy to premiere her song “Deserve Me.”

The song empowers its listeners to know their worth, letting them know that if someone treats them badly then that person does not deserve to be in their life. It is powerful and catchy as hell.

In the second verse, King sings, “[I’m] too busy being me.” By embracing her own individuality, she is able to get rid of the negative energy and people around her. There is no need for that negativity, and individuality is the key to confidence.

You can find Olivia’s music on iTunes, Spotify, Tidal, Amazon, YouTube, Vevo, and more.
